The new hotel would include a 23-story tower and two 15-story towers in phases, containing 1,000 hotel rooms and 500 time-share units, including a 90,000 square feet casino, a 3,404-space parking garage, 344,890 square feet of office space, retail shops, restaurants, movie theatre, and an amiptheater.

On October 9, 2003, Station Casinos announced that new hotel, casino, and entertainment complex would be built at Charleston Boulevard and the Las Vegas Beltway in Summerlin named 'Red Rock Station'. The casino is known for it's controversial past during construction, with many people thinking that Red Rock would ruin the normal lives for the locals in Summerlin. This resort is also Station Casino's flagship property, since it's company is headquartered inside the property. The hotel is named after Red Rock Mountains, due to how close they both are to each other, not to mention it's desert theme being thrown in with the casino's modernity.

The hotel is owned by the Station Casinos corporation and opened back in 2006. Red Rock is an 830-room resort and casino located on 11011 West Charleston Boulevard in Summerlin, Nevada.
